ONWARD were a frontrunner on the echelon of bands proudly carrying the classic US Power Metal this side of the Millenium. Following in the steps of the classic USPM acts such as OMEN, HELSTAR, FATES WARNING, JAG PANZER, LIEGE LORD, ATTACKER, TITAN FORCE, SLAUTER XSTROYES, WARLORD, and alongside fellow peers STEEL PROPHET, DESTINY'S END, NEW EDEN, CRESCENT SHIELD, SKULLVIEW, CAULDRON BORN, TWISTED TOWER DIRE, etc.

This album was originally written in 2002, but was shelved to be released later in the band's career due to being "too experimental" at the time, leaning too heavily on the classic 70s hard&heavy rock sound that influenced Toby's guitar style. Sadly, the band disbanded shortly after...

Toby commented: "In 2014 I located the original demos for "New Fathoms Down" and decided to clean them up as best I could and add some additional guitar tracks.Vocals were sourced from an analog demo from our original 4-track cassette recording. The final result was good enough for release.

Shredguy Records issued 100 pro CD-R'S in 2014 and Crushing Notes Entertainment reissued a small digipak version of a few hundred units in 2018. All versions quickly sold out and recently I searched the internet to see if it was available anywhere and I only saw one copy going on Discogs for sixty bucks. I still get alot of requests for the album from listeners who never got a CD..."

So here comes this re-release. What we have here are the 2014 recordings, freshly remastered by Wayne Dwyer at Orbit Studios, Victoria, Australia, along with 8-page booklet with info, archive photos, liner notes by Toby Knapp, and new hand-painted artwork by Anton & Stan at Oldschool Crew.
